- Be creative. Banking isn't the most engaging subject so look to reward customers for their engagement.
- Be willing to let go of some control. Your ability, as an organization, to control the message is limited. Be prepared to respond to both the good and the bad.

I read the article Kevin. At least it didn't veer off into the compliance element. Much of what I read about social media in banking devolves into compliance.
ReplyDeleteI think if banks are to be successful, they must have a personality that is as close to each community as possible. That is not very conducive to central control of every verb or conjunction conveyed on Twitter... a challenge indeed!

Jeff- Thanks for the comment. Our organization has focused on being authentic and connecting with the community in a less formal way. We do make sure to keep within the Compliance guidelines just the same.
